Start with the broken original. Photograph it from several angles next to a ruler, and keep it, because a Maker may ask you to post it: measuring a real part is far more reliable than working from a photo. Give the make and model of whatever it came from, and say what the part has to cope with. Heat, load and outdoor use decide whether it is 3D printed, machined or cast, and that decides the price. Most replacement parts take one to four weeks, longer for machined or cast metal.
