Writing a brief that gets great bids
The details that help Makers quote accurately and quickly.
1 min read
The more a Maker understands, the more accurate their bid will be, and the less back and forth you will need. A good brief usually covers what the item is, what it is for, the size or dimensions, the material or finish you want, how many you need, and when you need it.
If you are not sure about the exact material or method, say so, and describe the result you want instead. Makers are experts and will often suggest the best way to achieve it. Remember that the specification you agree becomes the reference point if anything ever needs to be put right, so it is worth getting it clear up front.
