This is the category where the brief has to say what the thing carries. Loading, span and how it fixes to the building matter far more than appearance, and a maker will ask whether the design has been signed off by a structural engineer before quoting. If it has not, say so, because some will work alongside your engineer and some will not take that on. Site access, whether it wants galvanising, and whether you need it installed or delivered flat all move the price. Fabrication and finishing typically run four to ten weeks.
